OBITUARY
MR DUNCAN REID. The death took place on Thursday last, at the Wellington Hospital, of Mr Dun Can Reid, of Law’s Road, Dannevirke, after a serious illness, at the age of 62 years. The deceased gentleman was the eldest son of the late Mr and Mrs John Reid, of Awahuri Road, Feilding, .and was well known throughout the Manawatu district, having lived at Rangiotu and Bunnytliorpc for several years. At one time Mr Reid farmed a property situated on Reid’s Line, Feilding, later moving to Shannon, where the family remained some ten years, prior to acquiring the present property at Dan uevirke. Besides his wife (formerly Miss Ethel Maclean, of Bunnytliorpc), there is left to mourn his passing a grotjyi-up family of three sons and three daughters, to whom the sympathy of a wide circle of friends has been extended. There are six grandchildren. Surviving sisters are Mesdames T. H. Simpson (Palmerston North). IT. W. Bennett (Awahuri), W._ Whisker (Kawa Kawa Road, Foilding), J. Gawith (Putaruru) and Miss M. Reid (Palmerston North); and one hrother. NTr Archibald Reid (Kawa Kawa Road, Feilding). Two other brothers predeceased him—John made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War and Hugh passed away in Auckland only seven months ago.
