ALTMARCK’S CAPTAIN. VESSEL ON THE ROCKS. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) O.sLO, Feb. 20. The captain of the Altmarek declares ho is now free to sail his ship, and that Norway has not placed any restraint on him. Tugs are needed to pull the Altmarek, which is ice-bound, off the rocks. The Berlin Official News Agency states that Mr Chamberlain’s reprimand to Norway proves that Britain is openly demanding military aid from neutral countries. The Altmarck’s skipper (Captain Dau), in a statement, said the ship’s stern was ashore, the rudder was broken, and one propeller was damaged. The ship was in the Gulf of Mexico at the outbreak of the war and received orders to place herself at the disposal of the Graf Spec, to which she acted as a supply ship throughout her activities. Desiring to observe the law in neutral waters, lie ordered no retaliation against the Cossack’s crew’s fire, to which not . a shot was returned.
