RIVER PLATE VICTORS.
LORD MAYOR’S RECEPTION. (British Official Wireless.) Received February 22, 10.18 a.m. RUGBY, Feb. 22. An invitation lias been given by the Lord Mayor of London to the 700 officers and men of H.M.S. Ajax and Exeter to a luncheon in the Guildhall on Friday. When the officers and men of the cruisers Ajax and Exeter are entertained to the luncheon they will he served with 500 pints of mock turtle soup, 3001 bof salmon with tartar sauce, 230 roast chickens with peas and potatoes, 130 orange jellies, fifteen 18-gallon casks of beer, 12 dozen bottles of beer, and red and white wines. The luncheon is being rebroadeast to New Zealand and Australia at 9.30 a.m. on February 24.
