CATTLE STOPS

CHECK ON CONSTRUCTION. At the Kiwitea County Council’s meeting, yesterday, the county overseer (Mr J. Hallinan) drew attention to the fact that there were cattle stops being put in at gateways without the permission of the council, and a discussion took place as to whether the council was responsible for accidents which may occur as a result of a person or an animal becoming injured in these. It was decided that the legal opinion of the Counties’ Association ou the subject be secured.
