(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Oct. 30. The official closing of the Herrington Golf Links look place yesterday. Play consisted of mixed foursomes and approaching and putting competitions, these being won as follow: —Foursome, Mrs M. B. Bcrgin and C. Pedersen; approach and putting, ladies, Miss G. Neylon; men, L. O'. Bryant. Mr M. B. Bcrgin (president) extended a welcomo to the visitors from Oroua Downs and Palmerston North and made special mention of the presence of Mr and Mrs A. P. Easton, whom he welcomed back from their trip abroad; and of Mr W. J. Ross, a foundation member of the'club, paying a visit from Te Puke. Mr Bcrgin presented the trophies won during the season:—Ladies: Senior champion, Mrs H. A. Hannay; runner-up, Mrs R. Robinson; junior champion, Mrs R. 0. Hornblow; runner-up, Mrs T. Kano; L.G.U. Silver Medal. Mrs S. E. Crawford; senior stroke and bronze medal, Mrs Hannay; eclectic, Mrs Bcrgin; Stableford, Miss G.. Neylon ; senior bogey, Mrs Hannay; junior stroke, Mrs A. V. Taylor ; hidden holes, Mrs W. 11. Smith; junior bogey, Mrs A. V. Taylor and Mrs A. Walls (equal). Men: Champion. D. Wishart; best net score in qualifying round, S. R. At the annual meeting of the To Awahou Sea Scouts the . report and balance shept disclosed a satisfactory position. One boat had been sold during the year Oamaru. Jamboree funds to the extent of £2O were in hand. The election of officers resulted: Chairman, Mr C. R. Robotham; bon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs E. Ebbett: committee, Messrs. E. A. Field. J. Macdonald: senr., J. Macdonald, junr., Marston (Oroua Downs), Mcsdames J. S.. Sborthouse, J. Evans. T. East and O. Calder. Scoutmaster: Mr H. Webber; Ladv Cnbmastcr, Miss E. Berry. Prior to the close of fhc meeting Commissioner Stubbs briefly addressed the gathering. Commissioner Callis gave an outline of the good ground work to be accomplished by the Cubs.
