“ALL QUIET” IN THE WEST

PARIS, Sept. 22
A Frencli communique states that there was a quiet day along 1 the entire AVestern Front.
The naval forces continue effectively to assure the protection of convoys and beat off enemy submarines.
A Basle message says French and British war planes were busy throughout the day protecting troop movements against German observation ’planes. Both sides are reserving their bombers for mass attacks.
Official photographs in the French Press show that France has a new light tank.
