ROYAL INSPECTION.
BERKSHIRE BARRACKS. RUGBY, Sept. 23. The King, who is spending the week-end at Windsor Castle, to-day visited troops of the Regular Army in a Berksiiire barracks. He remained more than an hour inspecting‘the various units at their training. The Ministry of Information,' in a communique, announces that MajorGeneral B. C. Freyberg, V.C., has l>een appointed to command the Salisbury Plain area. < Major-General Beith (lan Hay), Director of Public Relations at, the War Office, appealed in a broadcast for volunteer skilled craftsmen' for all three services.
_Oslo.— I The British Minister has sent a Note to Norway informing her that her neutrality will be respected provided Germany does likewise.
