PERSONAL.
Mr A. E. Lawrence, of Timaru, who is to adjudicate at the annual festival of drama of the Manawatu area of the British Drama League this week will arrive in Palmerston North tomorrow. Pleasure at the progress he is making after an accident, several months ago. in which he broke an arm, was expressed to Trustee J. Batclielar by Trustee A. E. Mansford (chairman) at to-day’s meeting of the Palmerston North River Board. Cabled advice has been received in Wellington of the death in England of Mr W. Gladstone Wickham, formerly British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand. He was well known in musical and dramatic circles in Wellington and was a prominent golf and tennis player. He married Miss C. Simpson, of Wellington, and is survived by his widow and two sons.
