OBITUARY.
MR JAMES CHALLIS. A resident of Feilding for the past 33 years, there passed away at the Palmerston Nortlr Hospital on Friday last Air James Chalks, at the age of 7S years. After residing at Masterton and other places in the Wairarapa, Mr Challis found engagement with the Feilding Borough Council on his arrival at Feilding. He was one of the oldest, members of the Foresters’ Lodge, having joined in 1896. Predeceased by Iris wife some years ago, Air Challis leaves two sons, Messrs Frederick and William Challis, of Feilding, to mourn liis passing. The funeral took place yesterday at the Feilding Cemetery, and was attended by a number of friends and representatives of the Foresters’ Lodge. The services at/St. John’s Anglican Church arid at the cemetery were conducted by Archdeacon F. H. Petrie, M.A., while the pall-bearers were Alessrs J. Noble, H. Tollan, E. Batten, F. Edwards, and two other members of the lodge. The lodge service was conducted by Bro. Tollan. Among the wreaths was one from Foresters Court Loyal, No. 5768.
