POLICEMAN SHOT.
BY HITLER YOUTH MEMBER. (Independent Cable Service.) WARSAW, Aug. 15. A member of the Hitler Youth Movement shot and killed a policeman airesting another member of the Hitler Youth in Upper Silesia to-day. The attacker was arrested, but the prisoner escaped over the German border. REFUGEES FIRED ON. ALLEGATIONS AGAINST GUARDS. PRAGUE, Aug. 15. The newspapers here and in Bratislava allege that Polish frontier guards fired on a party of 150 German, Ukrainian and Slovak refugees, wounding 25 while in Slovak territory after crossing tho Polish frontier. THE PEACE MOVE. LONDON, Aug. 14. The German and Italian Embassies, to tlie Holy See have 6ent identical communications to the Vatican in connection with the international situation, sketching out the terms of a peaceful settlement before the situation further deteriorates.
