FAT SHEEP TRADE
GUARANTEED MINIMUM. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 10Asked to-day what progress had been made by the British Government in carrying out its decision to guarantee to farmers a minimum price ioi fat sheep, the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. Lee Martin) said no advice had been received on the subject since May, when Sir Reginald DormanSmith announced that the guarantee would bo an overage of 10 per lb. It was understood, said Mr Lee Martin, that lambs would be included, but apparently the details of the scheme had still to be worked out. There was nothing in the British Minister’s announcement to suggest that the scheme implied a discontinuance of- tho quotas on imported meat.
