YORKSHIRE’S SUPREMACY.
Yorkshire still leads in the English county cricket championships, and the matches and results arc being keenly followed by some Englishmen domiciled in _ Palmerston North. A peculiar coincidence occurred in the second series of matches last week In that three batsmen who scored centuries all registered 101 not out. This trio was Smart (Glamorgan). J. Smith (Middlesex) and Brookes, (Northants). There is a former Yorksliireman in Palmerston North who was employed at the same establishment as L. Hutton’s father when he was at Home ,nnd he is’ following the successes of the liohler of the world record for Test scores with interest. It is estimated to date that Hutton, in his short career -in firstclass cricket, has scored nearly 30 centuries. .
