WRESTLING
AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS. The holding of the local amateur wrestling championships on Tuesday, September 5, will give the registered amateurs of this' district their chance to make their markin wrestling, for it is from the best content,ants among the entrants that the Manawatu representatives will be selected to take part in the provincial championships in Wellington. The best of the wrestlers in the provincial championships will, in turn, be selected to participate in the forthcoming New Zealand championships in Christchurch, and this means possible selection to represent New Zealand at the Finnish Olympic Games. It is hoped that there will bo a good number of entries so that local wrestlers will be prominent a,t least in the Wellington championships. FORSTER DISABLED. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Aug. 16. Earl McCready, 17.1, beat Frank Forster, 16.10, by a fall in the sixth round of a wrestling match to-night. Forster could not continue.
