COLYTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) COIA’TON, July 29. The Colyton Hall presented a gay scene when Mr and Mrs G. Lnnkshonr entertained 50 to 60 guests, the occasion being the coming-of-age of their eldest daughter, Kathleen. The hostess wore a frock of blue georgette with a spray of red roses, while the guest of honour, who assisted her mother in receiving the guests, chose pink crepe with a floral . shoulder spray and pink roses and daphne. Dancing and games were the order. The supper tables were decorated with chrysanthemums and bulbs, while much admired was the. handsome pink and white birthday cake made by Mrs Lankshour a-nd boasting 21 oandlcs. The candles were lit and extinguished and the cake cut with due ceremony. In the unavoidable absence of Ml- G. Houston, the tonst to the guest of honour was proposed by her uncle. MiTrass, who also made the presentation of a silver key, suitably inscribed, voicing the best wishes of the gathering. Many beautiful presents were on display, and many congratulatory telegrams were received. An enjoyable evening terminated with cheers for Mr and Mrs Lankshear. Visitors were present from Elthain, Palmerston North, Fcilding, and Makino.
