MANAWATU’S EASY VICTORY. By 17 games to seven, the Alauawatu Badminton Association heat Hawke’s Bay Association at Dannevirke on Saturday. The outstanding games were those of Slioerin and Christmas versus Watson and Hall in the men’s doubles, in which Christmas stood up remarkably well against a concerted attack. Slioerin was too good for I’. Watson, hut lie had to work hard to get home in the second set. Hall and Jensen had a real marathon, Hall "inning in the third set, hut both men were completely done at the finish. Hall won the New Zealand B grade championship at Hamilton last year. lie was the Hawke’s Bay player to win all his matches, being partnered by Miss Evans in the mixed doubles.
