(From Onl* Own Correspondent.) API TI. 'July 31. A meeting of flic R.S.A. committee was held on Wednesday evening. Those present, were Messrs W. J. Osborne (president), tV. MccKnzic (lion, secretary), A. E. I’rtijcan, K. Signal, J. It. Stralian and Tt. Clicyne, arid apologies were received from .Messrs C. M. Stanley, A. Dobson. J. Homily, A. and L. Ixindon. It was decided to aid two members requiring assistance. A letter from Hie Defence League was discussed, and tlie secretary was instructed, to seek further particulars. ODDFELLOWS. The usual fortnightly meeting of the lodge was held on Thursday evening. X.O. Bro. AL McKay was in the chair. The secret toy read tlie allocation of surplus funds over the past five yearn, which was much appreciated by members. Quite a number are now on lower payment, per annum, while some are now free from further payment into the sick arid funeral benefits fund. Dance arrangements reached finality. Supper and badminton concluded the meeting. GENERAL. Again there was a large attendance at the learners’ dance on Friday evening. Airs J. Osborne and Airs S. F. Morris kindly Supplied the music. The next lesson will be on Tuesday week. Air Raymond Thomson, of Gisborne, spent the week-end with Afr and AJrs S. F. Morris. FOOTBALL. The junior Rugby team met Rangiwahia on tlie homo ground on Saturday; Apiti won 28—12. It was a good and interesting game. Mr 11. Wildboro was referee. Those m the team were B. Prujcan, G. and T. Doughty, G. and V. Wild bore, Logan, R. Harlnnd, E. Signal (captain), C. Mapson, M. Kurtz, M. Stewart, L. Hogan, \\. Malone, If. Hammings and C. Hogan. The, seniors had a bye.
