(From Our Own Correspondent.) POHANGINA. July 18. The July mooting of the Pohangina Methodist. Ladies' Guild was held at the home of Mr- G. WagstalF. There was a full attendance, The drawing room with its decorations of howls of holly berries, and a huge log (ire, presented an inviting appearance. A letter from Sister Tvy Jones wiii- read, also enjoyable descriptive essays written by Maori students at “Kurahuna,” Several members expressed their intention of visiting Sr. Paul’s Guild on box after-

noon. A letter of thanks for stamps was received from Miss l’urdie. A large box of gifts for the Solomon Island Christmas box wins received, also a ease of hooks and toys, me., donated by the Sunday school scholars. A market stall was held and the proceeds added to the church refurnishing funds. A new runner and Communion table having lieen purchased out of this fund, it was derided to next purchase material for pulpit draperies and cushion coverings. Competitions were won by Mrs Maddison and Mrs Mullins. Afternoon trn was served by (fie ho-te-srs. Rev. R. Richards thanked Mrs Wagstnff and Mi-s Reid for their hospitality. and a'so Mrs N. Moar for the offer of her home for tho August meeting. Another of Hie series of enrlire parties held in aid nf the Anglican Church funds was hold in the Pohangina Hall on Faturrlay evening. 'There was a larger attendance than usual. The winner of the ladies’ prize was Air- F. A\ ood. .Miss Sinclair he’rp r runner-up. Til the men s section Mr Orchis was the winner. Mr C. K. Snolman taking second place on a play-off with All Len Tew«. A meeting of the Aniti-Pohnngina Rabbit Board was hold on Alonday. Air FT. C. McTutvre presiding.
