OROUA SUB-UNION. Jn the Beard Cup Rugby competition, the first round of which was completed on Saturday, the positions ol the teams are as follow: Waituna C points, Rangiwahia 3, Kimbolton 2, Apiti 1. In the junior competition, for the Mitchell Cup, Rangiwahia and Waituna have an equal number o: points each having 4, while Apiti hat failed to collect a point to date. The following are the sub-union representative fixtures:— Senior.—Oroua v. Bush, at Pahiatua, Bebbington Shield challenge, July 29. Oroua v. Horowhenua, at Kimbolton, August 19. Oroua v. Manawatu B, at Kfmbolton, date to be arranged. Oroua v. llangitikei, at Kim bolton, date to be arranged. Junior Oroua v. Bush, at Kimbolton, July 2!'
RAILWAY FOOTBALLERS. In a match in tho cup competition at the week-end, in Palmerston North, tho Palmerston North railway team beat Taihape b.V 11 points to three. Carr scored first for Palmerston North, but failed to convert his try. McGrath then crossed and converted, while J. McKcnzio registered another try. For Taihape Johnson kicked a penalty. Shuker (Palmerston North) was the best forward on cither 6ide, and Carkcek was Faihape’s best back. In a junior match played at Marton, the Palmerston North juniors beat Marton by 10 points to 9.
