PLAGUE OUTBREAK.
JEWISH REFUGEE SHIPS. JERUSALEM, July 17. Plague has broken out in one of the four ships carrying 2560 Jewish refugees, and lying off the Syrian coast, after failing to penetrate the British cruiser patrol on the Palestine coast. Several died ;|d were thrown overboard from the ship, on which there are 650 refugees. The vessell has been allowed to enter Beirut m order to disinfect and land patients under quarantine conditions.
A second vessel with 600 aboard, mostly from Hamburg, tried to enter 14 ports. Tho two others are carrying Austrians and Czechoslovakians. All four are short of food and witter.
