AUSTRALIAN NAVY
REDRESS FOR RATINGS. SYDNEY, July 17. Despite the strike threats among the ratings in the Australian Navy, there was a full muster of the men aboard when the ships left Sydney harbour to-day for the naval exercises in Jervis Bay. The Minister for Defence (Mr. G. A. Street) stated that he intended to overhaul the machinery relating to the method of presentation of grievances and redress for ratings in the Navy.
