COMMUNICATION HAMPERED
SNOWSTORM IN SOUTH. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 18. Telegraphic communication between Nelson and Motueka was lost last nglit, the Post and Telegraphic Department states, owing to heavy falls of snow. Faults developed in the vicinity of Richmond and Upper Monte re, and contact with Motueka was lost at 7.25 p.m. A line gang left Nelson at approximately 8 p.m. for the removal of several faults, but further trouble developed beyond Richmond. The work was hampered by a continued heavy snowfall, and at a late hour the gang suspended operations, which were resumed early this morning with the result that communication .was restored at 8.45 a.m.
