UNUSUAL CHARGE.
Per Press Association. GREYDIOUTH, July 17. In the Magistrate’s Court, Thomas Brown was fined £3 for damaging a safety lamp issued to him at the Dobson mine. Counsel for the company said Brown was scon tampering with tho lamp. Over a hundred men were endangered as a result of defendant’s foolish action. Mr Ferner, S.DL, described tho offence as serious and he could not remember dealing with a similar case.
