AHNNEAPOLIS PITCHED BATTLE,
MINNEAPOLIS July 15. \ series of riots arising out ol the Works Progress Administration strike culminated to-day m a pitched battle in the citv streets. Police in armouied cars armed with riot guns and tear gas fought strikers armed with bricks and sticks. One striker was killed and L were injured. , 'l’lie Alavor later announced that the citv refused responsibility for tlie further operation of the relief works m order to avert a civil vai.
