GIFT PARTY.
Miss if a vis 0. McCarthy, of Palmerston North, was the guest of honour at a largely attended gathering of relatives and friends at the Railway Hall on Saturday evening, on the occasion of her approaching marriage. The gathering included a number of visitors from Wanganui. The hall was very tastefully decorated for the function, which had been arranged by Mrs A. Christiansen and the Misses V. and A. Norris. Miss McCarthy was the recipient of many useful and ornamental gifts, and she was assisted in the opening of the parcels by her fiance, Afr M. Norris, of Konini (Pahiatua). The M.C.. Air J. McPhail, tendered the congratulations of the company to the bride-to-be and Mr Norris responded. Dancing was indulged in till a late hour, and Afr R. Harvey performed a tail dance. The music was supplied by an orchestra. Aliss McCarthy wore blue crinkle georgette.
