The friends of Mr P. Carville. who was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital as the result of sustaining injuries in an accident a slioit time, aJp, will be pleased to learn that his condition is now showing an improvc--111 Mr M. G. C. McCaul, of Wellington, (a past president of the Associated Chambers of Commerce) and Captain S Holm (president of the ’Wellington Chamber of Commerce), were visitors tn Palmerston North last night for the annual dinner of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce. At the Massey College graduation ceremony next week, the principal speaker'will be the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. W. Lee Martin) and the degrees will he conferred by the Vice-Chancellor ol the University of New Zealand, Professor Sir T. A. Hunter. The death has occurred m Wellington of Mr Aaron Samuels, a wellknown businessman. Mr Samuels was noted for his philanthropy, not only toward Jewish charities, hut charities of any denomination. He was born in London, was 06 years of age and he had been in Wellington for 30 years or more. Mr P. W. Young, who is president of the Tiniaru Junior Chamber of Commerce, and who is at. present the guest of Mr W. M. Sexton, of Roy Street, met the members of the Palmerston North Junior Chamber of Commerce this morniuo to discuss matters of interest to both organisations.
