During; the week-end the ladies’ team from tlio Buckley CJolf Club, Shannon, v Cited tlio Oroua Downs 1 radios’ Club tlio nuit(.‘it resulting 1 in a win for Oroua Downs by a margin of six games. The visitors wore entertained at afternoon tea. The nosuhs of the match arc a* follow:—Mi.-s M. Scott halved with Miss Easton, Mis S. Howard halved with Mrs Pope. Mrs A. T. Nichols beat. Miss* Easton, Mis* 11. Pedersen boat Mrs Iliggie, Mi.-.- .1. Jarvis beat Mrs Mullins. Mis* I*, (bay beat Mrs Simpson. Mrs C. Pedersen beat Miss Paik, Mrs K. Conlan beat Miss Koa-.h. The Oroua Downs branch of the National Party held a euchre and dance in the hall on Tuesday evoninir. The card tournament was won by Mr Ilohir while Mr.- T. Dalgitv won tlie ladies’ section. Mr E. Christensen carried off the consolation prize for the men while Mi.-s L. Chrislcnoen won the ladies’ consolation prize. The Bulls ladies’ basketball team visited the Oroua Downs team on Wednesday afternoon and, although it was a rather wot dav, the Bulls ladies won l»v 12 goals to 11.
The Orou.i Downs Golf Club’s men’* team will visit the Jlaleombf* Club on Sunday for the first niaich betwoon Hie two clubs.
