INDUSTRIES IN WOODVILLE.

A strong advocacy for the. establishment of industries was made by Cr. Olsson at the meeting ot the Borough Council on Thursday, lie reminded the meeting that Woodville once possessed freezing works, bacon works, a sash and door factory, a lellniongcry, and brickworks. It had an ideal geographical position, and cheap electric power would he available. He considered that the advantages of Woodville in this respect were just as good as those elsewhere. 1 here was a move now in different towns lor the establishment of industries. The Mayor said he believed I.evin was interesting itsoll in the matter. Cr. Olsson said there was cheap land available locally. Cr. Hustwick suggested that those concerned about manufactures would take the initiative themselves. Cr. I'Whes considered that the development of the dairying industry j was the chief feature. The Mayor commended Cr. Olsson for introducing the subject. Cr. Galbraith said it would be very beneficial if it manufacturing industry could he established in the district. The discussion then turned on the. work which the one-time Chamber ot Commerce had been instrumental in doing lor the welfare of the district.
