MALAYA’S GIFTS.
FOR EMPIRE DEFENCE. (British Official Wireless. ) RUGBY. June 7. The Colonial Secretary (Air Malcolm MacDonald) stated in the House c-f Commons to-day that free gifts from Malaya toward the cost of Empire defence during the last- 20 years amounted to more than £7.250.000. In addition, the expenditure borne in the same period by the Malayan Government on local forces, including His Majesty’s forces in the Peninsula, amounted to about £15,000 000.
