WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE.

MORE INTEREST IN BANKS. Business was slightly more active oil the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, when an increased turnover was recorded. The market was generally quiet, however, and prices showed little change. Government stocks were inactive, investors showing but a languid interest. .More attention was given to banks, Australasias selling unchanged at T 9 15s. Commercial of Australia a penny up at Ids 3.1 and New Zealand., at 40s Id to 40s. H.S. and A.’ts were steady at 99s 9d, sellers 102 s, and New South Wales were wanted at *£,‘lo 10s. Insurance shares were quiet and unchanged. Gear Meat, which has passed its interim dividend, wore wanted at 11s 9d. Wellington Meat Export were (id up at 9s 3d. Ollier industrials, both New Zealand and Australian, were dull. Australian Consolidated Industries sold 3d up at: 39s 9d. Wilson’s Cement were 2d lower at 17s lOd. Y ES‘ PER DA Y’ S QUOTATION'S.
