CLEARING SALE.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency. Co., Ltd., in conjunction with N.Z. Farmers’ Co-operative Co.. Ltd., report on a very successful clearing sale, of the Finvoy pedigree and grade Jerseys, the property of Mr J. Smith, Buimythorpo Road, Palmerston North, held on the farm on June 6: Competition on the offering of 14 pedigree cattle was good and a satisfactory average of 22igns. was obtained. The lop price of 67gns. was obtained for the herd sire William of Alana, purchased by Mr W. Crosby, of Taranaki, the highest, price in the female section being 40gns., this figure being paid for Finvoy Tulip by Air ft. L. Horn, of Ohnu. The grade cows were keenly sought after by a large bench of buyers and one of the most successful sale.s to date was recorded, the herd of 30 averaging £ll 10s. the top price being £l7 10s, paid for an exceptionally choice cow due in July.
