LAPSE OF MOTORIST. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 7. Hector Ormiston Sinclair, an importer, was fined £3O and his driving license cancelled for a year when ho pleaded guilty, through his to being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-car. The poke said lie was seen starting the car on the Princes Wharf yesteerday and was stopped by a constable. Counsel said Sinclair had been under medical care for two years and bad not taken any liquor during that period. He bad nil unblemished record and bis lapse yesterday was due to taking three whiskies when seeing friends off by the Awatea. Mr C. It. Orr-Walker, S.M., said he would give accused the benefit of the doubt and not inflict a term of imprisonment.
