CONTINENTAL BUTTERS EASE. London prices for Continental butters "cie definitely easier last week, with a sharp decline of 6s a cwt. for Danish and 3s to 4s for Dutch. New Zealand salted was a shade firmer at 114 s to 115 s a cwt. According to the cabled report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board, there was an improved domand at the end of the Yioek. Friday s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follow: New Zealand.—Salted. 114 s to 115 s (114 s; n year ago, 121 sto 1235) ; urisalted, 118 s (118 s: a year ago, 123 s to 1245). Australian.—Salted, 112 sto 113 sup to 114 s (113 s) ; unsaltcd, 114 sto 115 s (114 sto 115 s). Danish.—loss; 126 s to 127 s spot (Ills; 132 s to 1335). Dutch.—Unsaltcd, 105 s to 107 s, ex. 110 s (109 s to Ills). Lithuanian—Unsaltcd, 112 sto 114 s (114 s to 115 s). Polish.—Salted. 107 s (109 s to 110 s); unaalted, 107 s (110 s). South African.—loss to 1095., ex. 110 s (106 s to 110 s). The retail price of New Zealand butter in London is Is 2d a lb and that of Danish la 4d. The present wholesale price of 114 s 6d is equal to approximately 13.68 d a lb, f.0.b.. New Zealand ports, compared with the guaranteed price of 14.89 d a lb., f.o.b. The London equivalent of the guaranteed price is 124 s3d a cwt.. The equivalent price of cheese is about 6.7 d a lb f.o.b. compared with tho guaranteed price of 8.42 d.

Deliveries of New Zealand butter from store last week were 1325 tons. The quantity in 6toro, including 375 tons cx Port Dunedin and Wairangi, was 5977 tons, as against 5335 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter last week were 2851 tons, compared with 3586 tons a year ago. The New Zealand cheese market is unchanged at 60s a cwt, which is 10s a cwt. below tho price ruling 12 months ago. .Friday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, wore as follow:

New Zealand. —While and coloured, 60s (60s; a year ago, white 70s. coloured 70s 6d).

Australian. —White, 52s to 56s (52a to 555); coloured, 54s to 575, ex. 53s (not quoted).

Canadian.—White. 70s to 74s (71s to 735); coloured, 70s to 73s (71s to 735). English.—Finest farirters, 88s to 109 s (88s to 100 s). South African. —White. 50s to 565; coloured, 50s to 545. The retail prico of New Zealand cheese is nnclmngcd at 8d a lb. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese from store last week were 12.316 crates. The quantity in store, including 5542 crates ex the Wairangi, is 100,723 crates, compared with 70,782 crates a year ago. Deliveries of Canadian chese last- week were 4117 boxes, the quantity in store bc*ing 81.516 boxes, &s against 66,074 boxes a year ago.
