(To the Editor.) Sir, —Could you please tell me if a farmer is allowed Is in the £ when purchasing stock. For instance, I have bought stock this season, my first sea--6011 in dairying (“dairy cows”), to the value of £SOO, and have taken £42.) ending March. Although 1 am etill in debt for same, 1 .n.m to:d I have to pay Is in the £ on £425, which means I have to pay another 10s per head. The person who sold Hie cows would have to pay Bd. which means Is 8d in the £. Also, is one given an allowance on the purchasing of implements. —I am. etc., FARMER.
AYlien the above letter was shown to the local authorities it was st-ated that if the writer could not make an estimate of his own income he should refer the matter to someone who could do 60. and his profit and loss account for the year should be drawn up. When this was done he should refer the matter to the Post Office authorities.
