ECZEMA OUTBREAKS
ALARM IN WAIKATO. HAMILTON, April 15. The troubles of Waikato farmers as a result of the prolonged drought are being accentuated by reported outbreaks of the dreaded facial eczema in the district, and considerable alarm has been expressed. Research officers fl.t Ruakura have taken immediate steps to make investigations, and experiments are proceeding on some infected sheep. The present cases, though not numerous, are expected to throw new light on the disease, for it had always been thought that flush of feed following a long, dry spell was a primary cause of the disease.
