CHURCHES OF CHRIST.
The Churches of Christ during the last fen- weeks have commenced services in Napier. The Masterton Church was opened yesterday and Pahiatua worshippers will recommence their public services. Air J. Bradley, of Glen Leith College, having been invited to act as preacher in a week or two.
A well-known business man of Auckland has placed to the credit of the temperance education department the interest on £3OOO. Tin's has enabled the Auckland district to specialise in the work of education among the young people as to the benefits of total abstinence. It is very much on the same lines as the youth temperance groups promoted by Afr Grilistend. of the New Zealand Alliance. Palmerston X<irT~-. though it specially deals with education in the public schools and examinations on the subject ol temperance. The AVangamii Board of Education lias refused the Alliance this privilege and has also refused io receive a deputation on the matter, Air Grinstead states.
