PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB. END OF SEASON. A most successful season in tlie history of the Palmerston North Bowling Club was concluded on Saturday afternoon when a large number of members took part in a rinks competition for prizes presented by the club. Five rounds of six heads each were played and the winners were Barrett, Hav, McEwen, Barv (skip), with four wins, the runners-up being Clemoes, G. N. Stephenson, Morris, Pain say (skip) with wins. At afternoon tea, which was provided by Mrs L. T. Brown and her helpers, the president (Mr E. Bary), after apologising for the unavoidable absence of Mrs Bary, briefly addressed the members. The season, he observed, had been opened in rain and was closing in rain, the reference being to a shower then falling which, however, later cleared away. It had been a successful season for the members of the club and he congratulated the players who had won at the champion of champions contests, centre and outside tournaments, and in the club competitions. To the green committee Mr Bary extended the members’ thanks for the excellent manner in which the green had been kept during a difficult season. Mrs Brown and her helpers were accorded a vote of thanks at the presidents call for their splendid service at afternoon tea on club days. Mr Bary, in conclusion, wished the older members a pleasant winter and expressed the hope that they would he with them on the green next year, mentioning the club’s patron (Mr A. Aiken), Mr G. N. Stephenson and Mr J. Stone. Members ot the club who won distinction during the season were: Champion of champions singles.— Won by T. L. Arnott. Manawatu Centro’s New Year tournament.—Won by F. Wort and H. Johnston (skip); runners-up, F. Rosvall and C. L. Mowlcm (skip); third place, N. Ingham and T. L. Arnott (skip).

Manawatu Centre's Easter tournament.—Seven out of eight rinks qualified for post-section play and F. Ros vail, J. Child, C. L. Mowlem and R Ramsay (skip) were runners-up. Hawke’s Bay Easter tournament.-

Won by D. Morris, AY. Douglas. J. MCruncher and H. Johnson (skip). South Taranaki Easter tournament —N. Ingham, A. Wilson, L. T. Brown, and J. K. Raton (skip) were third. The Manawatu Centre’s A grade pennants were won by the Palmerston North Club.

Club competition winners were: Singles, T. L. Arnott; pairs, N. Ingham and J. K. Raton; rinks, J. A. Colquhouu, A. S. Bavliss, J. H. Nash and T. T,. Arnott (skip). The work of topdressing of the green for next season is being put in hand immediately.
