TASMAN CUP PLAYERS.
PREPARING FOR VISIT. Tlie efficient and enterprising management of the Ladies’ Golf Union is already functioning in preparation for the visit to New Zealand in October of the Australian Tasman Cup team; and at Moretaunga recently Aliss Suzanne Collins and Aliss Joce-
lyn Hornnbrook, two candidates for the New Zealand' team, played an unofficial match at the request of the L.G.U. Aliss Hornnbrook won by 1 up in a display of fine golf, both scoring in the 70’s. Aliss Collins is the present New Zealand champion. Like her brother, J. P. Hornabrook, Aliss Hornahrook has a remarkable aptitude for the game; and with keen sight she might easily command women’s golf as much as her brother has commanded men’s (says an exchange). Unfortunately, she has to wear spectacles, and they are rather a handicap on ticklish shots. For all that, she plays an excellent game, and she seems to have good prospects of making the New Zealand team this year.
