MANUFACTURE OF ’PLANKS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 15. The opinion that, under the circumstances. New Zealand could manufacture light aeroplanes was expressed today by Sir Hardman Lever, the leader of the British Air .Mission which has just presented its report to the New Zealand Government. Sir Hardman said it was possible for New Zealand to manufacture only light types, because it did not have the technique necessary for others. The progress of aviation was so rapid that technique was ('hanging daily. The mission was also impressed with the condition of civil aviation in Now Zealand, particularly the landing grounds. Sir Hardman admitted that there was a connection between the mission and the Conference on Pacific Defence.
