DESERTION CHARGES.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 15. Arrested in the city hist night, two young German seamen belonging to the steamer Dortmund appeared in Court to-day charged that, being seamen lawfully engaged at Hamburg, thev deserted on April 13. They were Heinz AA'elling, aged 18, and AA’ilhelin Ostkaemper, aged 20. The police said the Dortmund sailed for Sydney yesterday and they obtained a remand until Friday. The men will remain in custody.
