REVENUE WELL UP. The stationniastcr at Feilding (Air R. C. Croudis) has supplied the lollowin ginformation relative to the business transacted at the Feilding station for the four weeks ended .March 4, 1939. Comparative figures for the corresponding period in 1938 are shown in parentheses:— Outward traffic.—Passengers, 1587 (1737) ; cattle and calves, 1004 (491sheep and pigs, 60.975 (40,230); goods tonnage, 1493 (1181); passenger revenue," £631 (£519); parcel revenue. £7l (£6O) ; goods revenue, £5537 (£3 1 04) ; miscellaneous revenue, £l4 (£25); total revenue, £627] (£4312). Commenting on the figures, Mr Croudis pointed out that. with one exception, business had shown a substantial improvement compared with the corresponding period last year. It would be noted that the outward revenue was almost £2OOO higher, and while the number of passengers who bought tickets at Feilding was smaller the revenue from tickets sold was over £IOO higher. On the inward side practically all sections had handled more business, and the benefit was reflected in tlie total revenue receipts of £6394 compared with £4560 a year ago. Fewer sheep and pigs had been received at Feilding. but cattle and calves bad reached Feilding in increased numbers (practically double the number handled last year).
