EARLIER DISCUSSIONS.
ENVOYS NEGOTIATE. /TOME, March 24. Italian correspondents in Burgos state that an aeroplane landed at Burgos yesterday carrying Republican envoys entrusted with the task ol negotiation, conditional upon the surrender of Madrid. Valencia reports add that negotiations are proceeding between the envoys and General Franco s representatives. It is stated that the Madrid envoys have offered the total disarmament of the whole of tho Rod Army and the recognition of General Franco as head of the State and the Army. The only cessions asked are authority for certain Republican Government mem-Ixu-s to seek reluge abroad. The Messagero’s correspondent at Burgos states that the Republicans have undertaken instantly to demilitarise the mined sector of Madrid. Further messages from Burgos claim that Madrid will surrender to-morrow.
