LONDON, March 23. Wheat cargoes are unaltered and parcels are steady. Futures.—London-March, 20s fid per quarter; May, 21s lid. Liverpool: Old contract, March, 4s 3id per cental; May, 4s 4|d; new contract, March, 4s Hd; May, 4s 2|d; July, 4s -lfd. The spot trade is quiet; Australian, ex-ship, 23s 9d. The grain and produco trade remains reasonably busy without any outstandingly aclive section. There is steady demand for most seasonable lines, but the position is somewhat complicated by a scarcity of certain seeds, such as ryegrass. Wheat deliveries have slackened off to a sma.l volume. Quality has been high everywhere, but yields have been disappointing. _ Barley crops have been of exceptionally high quality this year, and yields have been good. The standard price for malting barley is 4s 7jd. There is not a great inquiry for feed, which is selling at about 3s to 3s 3d. Peas are in fair request, and some firstclass lines arc available. The price is 6s 9d to 7s for outstanding good samples. Ryegrass of good germinahon is difficult' to obtain. Good perennial with an 80 per cent, test is worth 4s 6d to 5s on trucks with lower-test seed at lower rates. Italian of 89 per cent, is worth 4s to 4s 6d. . , Cocksfoot is in fair request, and steady though not large business is being done. Up to 7jd is being paid for extra good samples' of bright heavy seed. Clovers are moving steadily, the North Island showing some interest in red. White is worth Is to Is 3d and cowgrass 6d to 7d for choice lots of now bright SG Potatoes are dull. The prompt market ;lias slowed up because of the heavy arrivals in the north earlier in the week, and there appears to bo little interest in tho forward position.
