AIR CRASH VICTIM.
MR. H. L. McPHEE. Private advice has been received in Palmerston North that Pilot-Sergeant H. L. MePhee was killed in an air crash in Scotland on Saturday, when his ’plane came down, near Stirling. The late Mr MePhee, who celebrated his 25th birthday last month, was born in Napier and was educated. there. Later he joined the staff of Messrs Barra lid and Abraham, Ltd., at Marten and lie became prominent in the field of sport. He represented Rangitikei and Wanganui at Rugby and at various times won West Coast athletic championships. In 1935 Mr MePhee left Marton and joined the Royal Air Force, and for most of the time he has been stationed at Abbots Inch, Scotland. Both Mr McPhce’s parents are dead, but he has a brother (Mr T. MePhee) living in Palmerston North, and a grandmother at Napier.
