DISMISSAL PROPOSED.
CLERKS AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 21. Temporary clerks employed in tlio Auckland Employment Division of "the Labour Department, a portion of which has been absorbed in the new Social Security Department, now face the certainty that substantial retrenchment is contemplated among them. It is expected that dismissal notices will he issued to-morrow. Till they joined the division from the ranks' of the unemployed, some of tlio temporary clerks had had no previous clerical experience, but there are others with long training who have held responsible positions. There are iarge numbers of unemployed clerks on tlieTlabour market in Auckland.
