SQUASH RACKETS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Palmerston North Squash Rackets Club was held in the club lounge in Princess Street, last evening. Mr T. M. N. Rodgers (president) being in the chair. There was an attendance of 27 members. Apologies for absence were received from the patron (Mr H. N. Watson) and from Mr S. Hooper. The report and balance-sheet were adopted without discussion. The officers for the new year are: Patron. Mr H. N. Watson (re-elected): president, Air T. M. N. Rodgers (reelected); vice-presidents. Messrs 0. H. Williams and Cyril King (re-elected): lion, secretary-treasurer. Air R. Had don (re-elected); committee, Alessrs G. Crosslev, AV. S. Fox. AT. ,T. Rodgers, R. Remington. B. Wycherley. Dr. R. V. Hooper, and Dr. A. W. de Berry: club captain, ATr M. J. Rodgers; lion, auditor. Air H. J. Rees. The hon. auditor was accorded a vote of thanks for his services. It was decided that those members who desired to do so could pay an annual eourt fee of £2 10s, in lieu of the present chit system, such fee to lie payable in advance and to operate from April 1. The chairman explained Iha.t several members had expressed their desire that such a fee be fixed and that it would also facilitate the secre*arial duties. Quite a numlierof members would take advantage of it. The opening night was fixed for next week, when a Yankee handicap tournn.ment will he conducted. At the conclusion of the meeting a mixed Yankee handicap tournament was held. Four members tied with throe games e»ch and the nlav-off resulted ■ —Dr. Hooper beat R. Remington. Afiss N Muir bent AI. ,T Rodgers. Tn the final Afiss Afuir won from Dr. Hooper by default. A small trophv ivas presented to Afiss Afuir by the club captain (Afr AT. J. Rodgers).
