GIFT AFTERNOON.
GATHERING AT STANWAY. Miss Tui Litchfield, who is shortly to be married to Mr Raid Shannon, of Waiuma, was honoured at a gift afternoon held at, "Ala-hoe,” Stanvay. the homo of Mrs Arnold Shannon. The gathering of numerous relatives and friends took the form of a gift afternoon arid garden party combined, llie spacious lawns being the stone of many noveli.v games, including clock golf. The beautiful gardens were gay with hydrangea--. miniature sunflowers and marigolds, while gaily striped sunshades and canvas chairs lent colour to the lawns. Afternoon tea and ires were served nut of doors. Following the tea, Mrs A. Shannon a-ked Miss Lilehfield to aeeept a large collection of useful gifts for her new home. A wonderful variety of presents suitable for a bedroom were I hen unwrapped. Miss Litchfield suitably replied. Among the guests were: Mrs Lilehfield, Misses E. and TJ. .Shannon, Afrs Alvan Shannon.
