WOMEN TEACHERS.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, -March 22. The Wellington Education Board today decided to join with other boards in asking the Government to restore discretionary powers to boards when making appointments to positions for which married women have applied. It is claimed that married women who do not need employment for economic reasons might prevent students from securing jvositions, and that no liardship is likely to arise from boards having discretionary powers. The chairman to-day mentioned that the board was employing 83 married women and had 100 young teachers on the relieving list.
