WAITUNA, March 20. At the annual meeting of the DVomen’s Institute of Waituna West Mrs T. 1). Stokes presided. 'The report presented by Mrs K. G. England showed a good year’s work. The balance-sheet was adopted. Mrs England was welcomed back, members showing their appreciation on her return after. her lengthy illness. To the outgoing president, who did not wish to stand for the coming year, there Was given a vote of thanks by acclamation. Dlrs Stokes thanked the committee for their loyal support and also all members for their helpful response to all requests made. The following committee was elected: Mesdames E. E. Pearce (president), E. G. England (secretary), Miss DI. Clare (assistant secretary). Mesdames A. E. Pearce, R. Keith, DV. D. Johnson, '!’. D. Stokes, and Miss Iv. England. The l>oints prize for the year’s work was won by Mrs A. E. Shannon. Mrs A. K. Pearce won the points prize for the year “For the best flower from the garden.’’ The April meeting will be held at Feilding where a lecture will he given by Mr Somerset. Members arc lo take refreshments. The best flower competition will be carried on each month throughout the year.
