MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
BY-LAW CASES. Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., presided over the sitting of tho Magistrate s Court at Palmerston North, yesterday. Hector Eric Jlerkalin was lined £5. with IDs costs, for being on the Bulls racecourse during a race meeting, being a person prohibited under the Gaming Regulations. Stated to have been involved in a motor collision in the Manawatu Gorge. W. J. Workman, of Masterton, was fined £3, with £2 9s costs, lor failure to keep lo tho left-hand side of the road. Failure to possess warrants ot litness for their motor vehicles resulted in L. Loveridge (Wanganui) and H. B. Falkner each being lined £l, with lOs costs. For a similar offence M. .McDonald was fined 10s, with 12s costs. .
For driving on tlie Palmerston North-Himataiigi highway without due care and attention. N. J. Adamson was fined £2, with ]os costs. Tie was further lined 10s. with JOs costs, for not possessing tlie right class ol driving
license. Stated to have collided with and done £5 worth of damage to another car when backing in King Street, D. E. Curry, of Eketahuna, was fined £l, with 10s costs.
E. G. Ludeman, of Feihling, was, fined £2. with 12s costs, for driving without tine care and attention.
Stated to have collided with another car so that the bumpers became locked, and nearly caused a more serious accident. W. Brotherstone, of VVoodville, was lined £5, with 10s costs, for driving in a manner which might have been dangerous to the public. 1 ! tV. Marsh, of Bedding, was lined £2. with 10s costs, for leaving a carl iinlighted at night on the Kairanga-I Bunnvthorpe Bead. It was stated that defendant had loft the car completely on the bitumen at a very dark spot, and it was difficult to sec it at night. ___
