O’BRIEN—JOHNSON

A pretty wedding of interest to many Christchurch and Palmerston j North Iriends was celebrated at St. I Peter’s Church, Terrace Laid, recently, when Marcia Ito-sa Eleanor, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. C. Johnson, Terrace End, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Eric, second son ol Air and Airs J. 0 Brien, Biecarton, Christchurch. The ceremony was performed by lfev. F. S. Ramson. . Preceded hv the choir, of which she is a member, the bride was a dainty figure as she walked up the aisle with her father, wearing a beautiful frock of magnolia satin made on slim-fitting lines, with high waist shirred to form a diamond ; the shoulders were raised by stiffened plaiting and the skirt lell into a l?!’q embroidered train. Her beautiful worked tulle veil, which was worn over the face before the ceremony, was arranged to form a second train, and was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. A sheath of^ sulphur arum lilies completed a charming toil ette. The bride was attended by two ■ bridesmaids. Misses Lena Gregorv and i Joan Englinton, who wore dainty j frocks of pink angelskin taffeta, fen- j luring heart-shanod necklines, slurred ; from lugh waistlines to the neck, and full swing skirts. The corsages at the hack had tinv buttons and hand-made flowers at waist. Tlg'v carried -heaths of pink gladioli and blue delphiniums and wore pink flowers in their hair. Two small mauls wore also in attendance Barbara White (cousin of the bride) and Beverlev O’Brien (niece of the bridegroom). They were attired in blue taffeta, made on similar lines to the bridesmaids’’ frocks, and trimmed with pink ribbons and velvet hows. They carried posies of blue hyacinths and pink clarkia, and wore blue flowers in their hair. Air J. ADs O’Brien assisted, wearing a frock of wine red, with hat to tone, arid carried a bouquet of cream pom-pom dahlias. Air Ramson acted as toastmaster. Telegrams were received from all over the Dominion and from cousins oi the bride in Afc-lbotirno.
